Speaking Out and Standing Up
Time and time again we are reminded of the important and complex issues facing the Black community, stemming from a lengthy history of racial bias and inequity in our country. At The Hartford, we believe that hateful behaviors and racism have no place in our society. Our diversity and inclusion strategy comprises board governance, CEO engagement and leadership accountability to achieve our workforce representation and pay equity goals, along with a sustained and enterprise-wide commitment to equitable practices that encourage and enable employees to participate and achieve their full potential. We recognize, however, that there’s still a significant amount of work to be done. That’s why it is vital we understand and support the views and voices of the Black community, and at the same time continue the dialogue with friends, colleagues, family members and communities across the country to move this important conversation forward. We must continue to stand up, take action and advocate for change while bringing about social justice efforts to eliminate the racial disparities in our country.
